Dodge Ball

Ready set go!
Strategies against the boys.

Gathering up the balls.

Waiting to go back in.

Waiting . . .

The boys side.

The girls side.

Having fun!!

Jeanne was the last girl in on one game.

Wed. February 18, 2009
For our combined activity with the boys we played dodge ball. At first we divided into teams of boys and girls, but that didn't last very long and we were playing boys vs. girls. The boys won all of the games except for one. We had a fun time together playing the very competitive games and eating brownies.

Valentine Cookies

February 11, 2009
The Laurels and Mia Maids decorated Valentine cookies. At least they were suppose to be Valentine cookies. Emily brought gummy worms to decorate her cookies and they were a hit with everyone. Some were hidden inside the Oreo cookies and some were right on top of the heart cookies. They are tasted good!!

New Beginnings - "Soulvivor"

Last night we had our New Beginnings Program. We had a great time together. Our theme was "Soulvivor". We had a challenge round to begin each of the eight value activities. In the challenge round they were asked a questions that could be found in their Personal Progress books and the team/person who got the question right, there team was given a head start in the next value activity. After each activity the winning team was awarded a flag and the team at the end of the night with the most value flags was the winner of our "Soulvivor" challenge. The GOLD team was our winner for the night. After the activities we gave them a "Daily Soulvivor Kit" to help them survive in their ever day lives. Inside the kits were several items such as Life Savers, Band-aid, Rubber band, tooth pick, pencil . . . along with the items was a piece of paper with a saying about each item and a scripture reference. Finally we had Value colored cupcakes and yummy punch that Alison made. It was a fun night with our young women and their parents!

The Mia Maid class went to the Family History Library to learn more about doing our genealogy. Our goal is to be able to take our own names to the temple when we do baptisms for the dead. Brother and Sister Wright and Brother Cahoon from our ward were there to help us get started. We learned a lot and had a great time! On the way home we stopped for Slurpee's at 7-11, what more could you want.
